Helloooo!

I was remembering the class in which we talk about the types of message and the meaning of expressions like LOL, XOXO, LXX, OMG, etc., and I found on the internet a lovely image that I want you to see.

Hi everyone:

I really enjoyed last class because I prefer to learn grammar with excercises of a movie or a tv serie that learn from the book.
Dro. Who was funny and very touching to me because I'm having a difficult time but when I'm in the class I try to forget everything.
See you soon.

Some information

Hi everyone, I would like saying that the class is one of the best I have taken, I really like it and enjoy it. On the other hand, I have seen that we have some troubles with the topic in which we are working, for that reason I decided to make a little list with some rules about conditionals, perhaps most of you have or know these, but it´s just to refresh and give a reference to solve our doubts.

ZERO CONDITIONAL: IF CLAUSE: simple present MAIN CLAUSE: simple present
A situation normally true.
Example: If I run, I get tired. You know I somoke 40 cigarretes a day.

FIRST CONDITIONAL: IF CLAUSE: simple present MAIN CLAUSE: future
Example: If I study for my test, I will get a good grade.

SECOND CONDITIONAL: IF CLAUSE: simple past MAIN CLAUSE: would + present simple
Hypothetical situation
Example: If I were prince, I wolud live in a castle.

THIRD CONDITIONAL: IF CLAUSE: past perfect (had + past participle) MAIN CLAUSE: would have, could have, might have + past participle.
Hypothetical situations in past
Example:If he had given up smoking, he might not have got lung cancer.

FOURTH CONDITIONAL (MIXED):IF CLAUSE: past perfect MAIN CLAUSE: would + present. Another case is IF CLAUSE: simple past MAIN CLAUSE: would have + past participle
Present a past situations
Example:If I had time, I would go with you.
He would have lent you the money, if he were sure you were going to pay him back.

I hope this helps us to understand better.

My English class

Hello!
(these are my corrections)
I expect that I improve my blog and not the opposite.

I was thinking about how our English class has been developed, I think most of the activities are been ok, I really enjoy to start learning about English culture (I´m talking about all the culture of countries who talk English's language) but not just American culture.

Most of the times, We don´t like so much English because all the customs which we know are from US and this is a bad reference (this is just my point of view).

I'm learning French language either; in that class we usually talk or read something about French's culture; and although this is a very difficult language I could learn it a little bit easy, so I have realized that learning a language is easier when you know more about culture because you can make links between your own culture and the other one; that's because, I really enjoy the last class about "Doctor's Who".

So, Shelley I really aprecciate if you can show (teach) us more about your culture, I don´t know, as an example could be the way that boys and girls meet one each other, or how Australia was colinezed or perhaps another classical tv's serie or movie.

Please!!

Hi everyone¡ I hope you´ve had a nice big weekend¡

As you know to learn another language isn´t just to speak it or to read it, is about understand it. I can´t think on learning a language if you don´t know anything about the culture where does it come from. To learn English, French or German (just as an example) open our horizons. So I really like and enjoy when Shelly tell us about something of her country. As the song´facts that we checked on last wednesday: Do you came from a land down under? what a great meaning!

Monday class

Hi everyone!!!!:

Monday class was very funny and interesting, I was tired because I had many things to do and also I read a lot Sunday night.
I love to write every class some minutes because it helps me to forget some facts or issues and allowed me to get involved in class.
Also when we start talking about the dinner and the famous pepople that we will invite to eat I got relax because my parterns had a very good ones as Gokú.

Have a nice weekend.
See you on Monday.

Hi everyone!

How are you?? I´m a little tired because of all those loads of homework that i have on my desktop... :s i think it is caused by the end of semester that is very close now...
In my opinion, yesterday´s class was very funny and dynamic; just imaginating your own famous people dinner is amazing, you can think about your favorite musicians, historical charachters, unreal people (like goku, yoda and marge simpson), politicians, sportsmen, scientists and everyone you could write. The dinners that were presented by the teams were very funny..I liked the class a lot
Thanks
Ill see you tomorrow

Hello guys, I hope that you´re having a nice day!!!!

Talking about the class, in my opinion, the best part of the class was when we mentioned the persons that we would like meet, because in most of the cases we did strange and funny combinations; for example in my case God was sitting between Newton and Shrek.

I consider that the class was really fun, or what do you think?

Monday Class

Well this time i have to writte something about the last class
so te one thing that I enjoyed the most was to imagine the fake
diner party...It was very nice to think about inviting Yoda and the joker
and Duglas Adams and Hitler.
I think that its very interesting when we talk to each other and we can
learn diferent things from a very large ammount of opinions and it´s easy to learn when
it`s a Talking activitie.
XOXO

The Joy Luck Club

The Joy Luck Club by Amy Tan.

I really like this book and now I'm looking the movie, it's beautiful, the story is about four chinese women who emigrate to U.S. and deal with the change of culture, the four share their experiences in China. These women have kids in America and, of course, have problems with their daughters because they grow in the american way. You really have to read the book and, if you like it, read another books from Amy Tan, like: The Bonesetter daughter.

Hi fellows

I share a poem, that makes me happy.

"The bottom line "

Like a cat dragged in from the rain
Who goes straight back out and do it all over again
I'll be back for more
Something that is out of our hands
Something we will never understand
It's a hidden law
The apple falls
Destiny calls
I follow you
Like a pawn on the eternal board
Who's never quite sure what he's moved towards
I walk blindly on
And heaven is in front of me
Your heaven beckons me enticingly
When I arrive it's gone
The river flows
The wise man knows
I follow you
I'm yearning I'm burning
I feel love's wheels turning
Like a moth on love's bright light
I will get burned each and every night
I'm dying to
The sun will shine
The bottom line
I follow you

What are you doing?

Hi everyone! My title sounds like something from Twitter ...

Now that it's been 8 days of confinement, I'm wondering what you all are doing and what you think / know about what's going on with the swine flu. There are a lot of theories going around.
It would be really great if those in the health professions could also give their point of view.

For my part, I've been at home mostly. In fact I was sick for a few days with some flu-like symptoms, but as I never had a fever and now I feel fine, I've haven't done anything except stay at home and rest. It's been very good for me!!

For me, it's hard to tell what is happening with the flu. The official reports are now making it sound like it's not such a big deal. But I've heard other non-official reports (in other words, rumours) that say it is much worse and that many people are dying.

So if the H1N1 flu is not as bad as it first seemed, why are we still being told to stay inside our house? And why have so many people died?? And why doesn't the Health Minister use a surgical mask to cover his face??

What do you think? What are you doing?
